They were a group of actor's, brought together under the name of Lord Hunsdon, the Lord Chamberlain, but ostensibly evolved by Sir Frances Walsingham,to perpetrate the idea of England, the Monarchy, Protestantism and the Church, to the English people, still under the idea that England was a Catholic state. A favourite play of Walsingham's, was King John, for, although a Catholic King, he fought against the power of Rome.
