What Important Buildings Are There In Hastings?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are two very important building in Hastings. They are churches from the medieval period located in the old town and are called All Saints and St Clements. Towards the beach in Old Town are small hut like structures called "Net Shops" which were said to be distinctive to Hastings, and many like these can be found all over the place.

The Hastings castle has been completely destroyed because of cliff erosion. Only some areas like the chapel, a few walls and the underground dungeons remain. During the Medieval period the town had a Priory which was dedicated to Holy Trinity. Remains of these were found when the old cinema was broken down to build a supermarket situated near the corner of Cambridge Gardens, these reserves were somehow preserved and kept covered under the site.
