Dornoch is a borough and also a famous seaside resort that is located in Sutherland, Highland, on the east coast of the Scottish Highlands, and the north shore of the Dornoch Firth. Sutherland is a commission area of the Highland Council, Scotland, a registration county, and a lieutenancy area. The region of Caithness lies to the north and east, while the province of Ross and Cromarty lies to the south.

Some of the most famous attractions here comprise of the thirteenth-century Dornoch Cathedral, the Old Town Jail, distinguished golf course, the Royal Dornoch Golf Club, which is considered to be the 5th best golf course. There is also a very historical trait found here, which is known as the Witch's Stone. This stone was built in the name of Janet Horne who died in 1727.
