What Caused World War II?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are a number of reasons that led to the outbreak of World War II not least of which was the Treaty of Versailles. The treaty had laid down humiliating conditions on the Germans and had naturally been biased towards the victors. The cause of the outbreak of war is believed to be the German invasion of Poland. The conditions that were created by the Great Depression in Germany led to the rise of the Nazis to power. The Nazis took advantage of the discontent felt by the Germans. Inflation in Germany had reached alarming proportions and the hardships the peoples faced added to the popular discontent. The reason the Nazis gave of invading countries was to redress the harsh treatment being meted out to German populations in neighbouring countries.
