    What Species Of Hummingbird Is This?

    This little hummingbird was darting around inside my shop when I went in today. It ran into one of the light fixtures and stunned itself. I know what ruby-throated hummingbirds look like, and I do not think this is even a female, since they are generally brown. It recovered, and I took it outside and it flew away about 2 minutes after taking this picture. They are wonderful and amazing little creatures.
    Can anyone identify what species of hummingbird this is?

    Oh my goodness, what a precious bird. I love the hummingbird, but alas, don't know the names of them ?

    A couple yrs ago, one had a nest in the Honeysuckle bush by my porch. The eggs were like, the size of a pea. Never got an opportunity to see the chicks, which was kind of a bummer. Would be neat to see what they look like, they must be unbelievably tiny.

      Is is a black chinned hummingbird? The pictures I looked at made it hard to answer this question. I'm amazed at how fast their wings flap. No wonder why they need the sugar rush. Peace
