The Pere Marquette Rail-Trail is a wonderful bike trail that was converted from an old railroad trail. It is located In Midland, Michigan.
It is 22 miles long, and one of the most beautiful and peaceful trails I have ever taken a bike trip on.
There are beautiful gazebos along the way where you can just stop and think or rest. The trail leads through several beautiful parks where you can relax and leads to the Dow Museum and Bradley House. I went through of these last year and can not wait to go back.
The trail is paved and easy to ride your bike on, skate board on, roller blade, or walk on.
There are flush toilets along the trail and ample places to get a drink of fresh water.
At the one end of the trail in the summer is a giant farmer's market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Sometimes a fresh apple is needed if you are riding the entire trail.
Last year we stopped at a small restaurant along the trail and had a wonderful reasonably priced home-cooked meal.
If you like to ride bikes or even hike with your family this is a super place to go.
