Where Does The Heat Go In Portable Air-conditioners?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Air conditioning units work by taking high temperature from a room and expelling to the outer surface. In the simplest forms of portables the warm air is extracted from the room and expelled from a pipe. The pipe alike to a fall over dryer pipe (in the region of 1m long) has to be vented to the outside.  For a speedy fix (provisional explanation) you may be able to use the packed down oval adapter supplied.

OK, so where does the portable ac get the air that is expelled to the outside, can't live in a vaccumn, must be pulling hot air from the outside thru the crack in your house? Window units have a side louver that allows outside are be taken in then blown over the condenser coils all which are on the outside.
