To become a CFP in Canada all you require is a four step procedure. The very first step is education. You must complete either a distant or classroom settings of FPSC registered education program providers anywhere in Canada. Then appear for an accredited education program and also give a CFP Exam. In case you are already qualified in the field of CA, CGA, CMA, CFA, CLU, PhD in finance, economics or business and members of provincial law societies, then you can appear for Approved Prior Credentials Policy which is based entirely on CFP Examination Syllabus.

The third step is to gain experience at a CFP designation and also two years of financial planning experience. Experience before this exam is not at all accepted. And the final step is to abide by the FPSC Code of Ethics and consider the right of FPSC in order to enforce the Code of Ethics.
