The advertiser and the advertising agency hope that the advertisement will reach a large number of people and influence them to buy the product or avail of the service which is being advertised.
Sales promotion communication is basically defined as an effective technique which is used for providing an incentive for the client (or potential client) to sample the product or service which is being promoted.
Advertising agencies and public relations firms use a variety of media to communicate and act as a link between the advertiser and the customer. Some of these media are television, radio, magazines, newspapers, the Internet, yellow pages, brochures, mail outs, promotional events, hoardings, contests, sponsorships of shows, etc. Both advertising and promotional campaigns are effective only if they are done ethically.
