How Is Limestone Formed?

I would like to find out about the limestone and i am also new to Blubtit

    Ages and ages ago, there was a layer of rock under the sea, dead skeletons of sea creatures built up and then sand washed on top, due to all the weigh of the water and sand, the skeletons compressed against the layer of rock so they emerged. That is how limestone is formed. Hope that was helpful :)

      Dead sea animals fall from the sea on to the sea bed and then over a long period of time form bits of limestone

        Limestone is formed through different processes of sedimentation. Silica in the form of chert or flint clay, silt and sand makeup limestone which is known as CaCo3. For all the processes and more on Limestones please visit the following web page.
