We Have Removed The Popcorn Ceiling But The Kilz Is Not Sticking. Should We Have Sanded It First?
We have scraped off the popcorn textured ceiling. When applying "kilz" as a first coat of paint, it just rolls off and does not stick. What do we need to do to prepare the surface for painting?

It never hurts to sand ,but I had a bad can of Kilz a few months ago.It just rolled off like yours. I really like a brand called Grip-rite (tite) . Good luck !

You should have sanded a little first to make it smooth, and then wiped it clean with a 'lightly damp' cloth and let it dry off for about an hour, then apply the kilz. Hope this helps, good luck.
