A speech defect that lets you pronounce 's' or 'c' like 'th'.
Example: She sells sea shells on the sea shore.
Thee thellth thea thellth on the thea thore.

A lisp is basically a speech abnormality, where a person cannot pronounce the letter S, but rather pronounces it with a TH sound. Example: Sing a song. Thing a thong. As you can see, this is a problem. It can have negative consequences because it can give a whole new meaning to a sentence and lead to confusion, as you just saw. Deeni

A lisp is a mispronunciation of the "s" and/or "z" sound. It can occur when one sticks one's tongue between their teeth to make the s or z sound, and the result is a "th" sound. Some people also produce a distorted s or z by pushing air out the sides of their mouth instead of out the front and center of the mouth. This can usually be corrected with speech therapy and lots of practice.
