What Does The New Immigration Bill Say?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The new immigration bill seeks to grant visas on the basis of skills. It means the more you prove your skill, the more is your chance to stay in the UK. Capable workers who are able to support themselves will be given permanent residence after five years. The main condition in granting them the residence is the ability of the immigrants to prove that they can speak and write English language fluently.

The new immigration bills also drafted a proposal to levy fines up to £2,000 per employee for employers who utilise the services of illegal workers. Somebody who is found to be knowingly employing illegal workers may face a 2 year jail sentence and a fine of indefinite amount.  The Bill seeks to tighten immigration controls and make it easy for the customs department and immigration service to access passenger information, and single out individuals who can be a security threat. The Bill also restricts rights of appeal in case of people who were refused to work or study. The motive of the newly laid immigration bill is to voice a system that works that controls and furthers the economic interests of the UK.
