Why Did America Attack Iraq?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Numerous magazines and scholars cite different reasons for America to go for the Iraq war but as far as my thinking goes all the reasons played their collective role in making America go for the Iraq war.

The popular reason that every one thinks of is that it could not see the atrocities of the government over the people of Iraq and to save them from a barbaric regime it went to war. But thinkers and policy makers can not fathom this theory and they say that it is oil that made America go for the war. Iraq was among the governments that were hostile to the interest of America and by changing the government, America also achieved the target with which it can frighten the other governments of the Arab world and of Middle East. The other reason is that recently it was seen that the oil rich countries have started trading oil in Euros rather than in Dollars, the American Currency; it is to maintain the hegemony of the dollar that forced America to go for a war.

So numerous reasons are there but the need of the hour is to rebuild the country to make it become a sovereign nation.
