Is Anyone Doing Administration Jobs?

The fascinating aspect of this particular question is that the act of administration was once so clearly defined, but is now such an ambiguity that it is difficult to provide a definitive description for the actual job.  Because of the current state of the market, many people are finding themselves in positions where they are forced to perform their own administration in addition to whatever else it is that they do.
There are jobs where the requirements are a little more concrete, and they usually involve positions that require working in conjunction with someone who is somewhere among the tiers of upper-management.  Those are the jobs that basically involve either facilitating the management of a person's daily activities, or facilitating the activities that take place within the business itself.
I think the old-fashioned form of administration has dissipated, and has been replaced with something that requires a much broader skill set and a more intuitive knowledge of the business environment.
