Why Do Babies Cry?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The inability or lack of capability of babies to shape their feelings in words is one of the prime reasons that is linked to the crying of babies.  It is their way to communicate, to gain attention, to divulge whatever feelings they are going through at a particular moment.

The common misconception that babies cry due to some distressing factor is not always true.  Nevertheless it could be valid in most cases like when the baby is hungry or when it desires to be cuddled and held or on other instances when the baby is wet or dirty.  Although crying is a common phenomenon for babies, the same is not the case with tears.  Tears normally well up in a baby's eyes when they are really distressed or frustrated due to some reason.

Many mothers claim to comprehend their baby's moods by listening to the nature of their crying.  And several of them are quite accurate in their observations about their babies thus succeeding in attending to the reason as to why their child was crying.

Although on some occasions, mothers are not able to detect the reason for the baby's crying and in some interesting instances, it is true that even the babies don't know why they are crying.

When any human being is born, he or she cries. It is a natural process and it always happens like this. Babies cry may have different reasons and the only thing to consider is to find out the reasons of his or her cries. So far you question is concerned that why do babies cry can be explained in the following terms.

It is a natural process that babies live in the belly of mother for nine months or so packed in a natural way. When they are out of the belly, they cry because they feel themselves unsafe in the beginning but gradually they are used to other conditions and environments. There are some other reasons of their crying like sometime they cry when they feel hungry, sometimes they cry because of some sort of sickness and sometimes they cry because of some type of pain etc. So simply we can say crying of babies is always due to some reasoning and babies do not cry when they don't have above-mentioned problems. I hope this answer will satisfy your question to some extent.
