That keeps it fresh and interesting to mix and match. Kinda like Fiesta ware.

LOL, when tigger was younger, she couldn't say coca-cola, and it came out coca-loda, so that is what we call it now. Lol

When Red Lobster bought all new dishes for all of their restaurants, they "gave" all their current pattern to various thrift stores throughout each state.  I was able to purchase a setting for eight of the dinner plates, salad plates and soup bowls.  The colors are sort of a matte' finish of red, yellow, blue and green.  My glassware is a colbalt blue color from Pier One and my flatware is just a regular traditional pattern.

I have white with two beautiful blue rings around them, and the bowls, and blue glasses. Cobalt. Love them.

Sounds gorgeous. I used to have white/blue pfaltzgraff and blue dishes but I decored my kitchen and dining room, in earth tones and fall reds~ so I donated the `old stuff` to charity and boutgh all new. Neede a change, the `old stuff` is from when I first got married, and now that Doug has died, I just needed some new things to kind of help with a fresh start.

I can understand that. But, I hope that you still have things around to remind you of certain times and memories, right? Bless you dear.

I have 3/4 different sets. When I set a table though, it's in vintage flower style with varying colors. My glasses? Because of all the people in and out, I have a beautiful set of Masonry jars. (With handles) A local bar (now gone) use to serve a drink in them to go. At the window no less. So, naturally, almost everyone of my friends has a set. ROFL

I have 6 sets of dinnerware...LOL... I collect antique china and have 2 sets... Not quite complete, but enough we could use them if I wanted to. For holidays, I have my Pfaltzgraff China. Its all white with a scalloped design around the edges.. Unfortunately, they discontinued it before I got all the cool serving pieces, but I have lots of it. I have a set of stoneware that we use occasionally that has cows, and I have some Corelle from the 70's with the blue onion pattern... Those I started collecting because its the dishes my mom had when I was a kid. I usually find the pieces at flea markets and second hand stores, and have almost a complete set... Got lots of it and we use it nearly everyday. But my favorite is my malamine (plastic) dishes that we use everyday... Its all red, the dinner plates are white with red stripes around the edge, and all the rest if the pieces are red... They match my kitchen and I love them. I know...I have WAY too many dishes... But I cant part with any of them... The 2 sets of antiques are also patterns my mom had when I was a kid... So the 3 that Im collecting have sentimental value to them.
As for flatware, I bought mine at a rummage sale about 20 years ago. They are Oneida... Chateau pattern. I bought a huge box for $15... Theres like 40 forkes,40 spoons, 25 knives.. Etc, plus serving pieces... Well worth what I paid for them... I got an amazing bargin... To replace just one teaspoon is $13...lol. My glasses are ALL plastic...I have too many males around my house for glass... I have to search the yard and workshop for glasses before I do dishes...LOL.
