How Painful Is Tongue Piercings?

I didn't feel mine at all, my girlfriend was talking to the dude while he had my tongue clamped out, and after drooling for like 5 min i was like we gonna do this or what.. He was like "uhh already did dude".

The piercing isn't so bad. I found the clamp to be the worst part.

I got my tongue pierced three times in different places so I had three piercings all together. I would suggest sucking alot of ice chips to keep swelling down.  Before I got my tongue pierced three different times though. My dentist and I would have debates about the one piercing because having my tongue pierced only once would cause damage to my teeth from accidently biting the ball while eating my food, this didn't matter if I had a metal ball or a plastic ball. You bite just right and you can chip or crack your teeth so needless to say I saw my dentist a lot. After about six years and spending a lot of money for dental bills I reluctantly took my tongue percings out. Broke my heart but I had to do it before the dentist took all my money so enjoy well you can just be careful and get a good dental plan.

My nephew just got his pierced and said it hurt worse than ear piercing but wasn't that bad. If you do it, I would recommend getting a plastic ball. The metal will damage your teeth badly.

My son had his done, and his tongue was swollen for a few days, and the only thing he could eat was applesauce, and foods that weren't going to be in contact with the piercing for too long. I wouldn't recommend doing it, but if you do, make sure that you listen to what they say about keeping it healthy. Hope this helps.

The Piercing part doesn't hurt at all, but is sensitive for about a week while adjusting to
new weight of the piercing. The bottom of the mouth, where the tongue sits will hurt more
then the piercing itself.

I want my tongue done but i dont no if id b able to take the pain can some1 help???

My mum and brother had theres done and they didnt feel any thing whereas when i had mine done it was a really really bad pain,, !!! Once its over its over though although you do get the swelling for about a week after and the pain of eating!! So if you do get it done to save even more pain stick to soups and soft food for about a week or soo!!!!

I had my tongue done yesterday, the actual piercing part didnt hurt - its after that you feel the pain. I cant eat anything apart from jelly, icecream, mashed potatoes and soup! The swelling has gone down abit as i have been drinking lots of cold water and taking soluable painkillers, eating solids is hard so i wouldnt reccomend trying. I cant wait for the swelling to get down so i can have my bar changed to a smaller one, the large one gets uncomfortable after a while, apart from that i love my piercing :)

I'm hoping to get my tongue pierced this weekend, i have had my navel pierced for almost two years and thought it was painless, even though i have read that tongue piercings are painless also I still have my doubs, can anyone think of way to reassure myself, or what to do whilst i'm having the piercing?

Wel im gettin a tounge piercing soon, but i wanna no everythin ther is to no, like everything!
Does it hurt durin the process (scale 1-10)?
How badly on a scale 1-10 does it hurt after?
How easily can u get an infection?
Wat do u do to avoid gettin an infection?
And if u do get an infection wat do you then?
Do u ave to go 2 the piercing man/woman 2 change the bar or can you do it yourself?
Will you parents know easily and how do u hide it from them?
Will the bars have nickel in them?

Could u please answer all these questions cus it wuld b a big help!
I really really wanna get it done but i scared of them reasons ^^^.
I need opinions n facts. I've already had my bellybutton done 3times but for some reason it got infected. I did clean it will dettol but it just stang and went gooey. So i took the piercing out n left it to heal. I want it done again for deffo. But i dont no how to keep that in good condition cus i change belly bars most of the time n clean it.soon i dunno why it goes the way it does.
Help me on that aswel :)
