California Progressives refers to the people who belonged to the United States Progressive Party of 1912. The party had progressive mindset with emphasis on free trade, regulation of large corporations, women's suffrage. The California Progressives were in favor of prohibition of Liquor, Gambling, And other evils of this kind. They were of the view that these acts limited the potential of humans for advancement. They enacted the Eighteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1919, for prohibition of these acts.
