What Is The World's Smallest Pub?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A former railway signal box called the Signal Box Inn at Cleethorpes is due to be considered to be the world's smallest pub by the Guinness Book of Records. The pub stands at just 8 foot by 8 foot and has four bar stools and standing room for just another two customers, so not your ideal venue for a party, unless of course you don't have many friends!

The contender for the smallest pub in the world boasts five hand pumps which serve real ale and a fairly large beer garden. Landlord Andrew MoCall, has submitted his local for a place in the Guinness Book of Records. At the moment, the title is currently held in the US by Sam's Bar in Colorado Springs at 109 square feet. Owner of Sam's Bar, Sam Guadagnoli, could soon be facing a name change if the Signal Box's claim to the record is accepted.
The closest contender and competition for the title of the World's Smallest Pub in the United Kingdom is the tiny Nutshell in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, which has a floor space of just 112.5 sq ft.
