Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, was released in 1998, and was a direct-to-video movie. It sold 3.5 million copies in three days, with 15 million copies being sent to stores for its release.

The film features the same voice actors as the previous film, with the exception of Rowan Atkinson, who is replaced by Edward Hibbert for the voice of Zazu.

The film was re-released on DVD on August 31, 2004, and is the highest grossing direct-to-video animated film of all time, as of September 30 2006, with gross sales more than $300 million.

At the end of the first film, King Simba and Queen Nala had a daughter, and the sequel picks up where this left off. This time, Simba, Nala and their daughter Kiara face problems when Zira, Scar's widow (Scar was Simba's uncle in the previous film and the antagonist of the story. He was killed by hyenas at the end of the first film), plans to avenge Scar's death.
