Are The Prices Of U.S. Passports Going Down?

I happened to overhear someone mention this, and I 'm curious to the validity and what the new prices would be.

    The US passport has the same prices that were fixed on March 8, 2005. These prices are as follows:
    Under 16 = $52
    Age 16 and over = $67.
    You can pay through cash, cheque or money order as well. And if you want a passport on urgent basis you would have to pay an additional $60.

    Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't answer the question about the rumor or passport prices going DOWN. That's what I'm interested in. I currently possess a passport. Thanks.

      Yes, be patient.  I asked about this at the local post office and they confirmed that they are.
