What Facilities Are Available At City Of Derry Airport In Londonderry/Derry In Northern Ireland?

Answer Question

City of Derry airport, once destroyed by an IRA (Irish Republican Army) bomb and massively over-subsidised has relatively few facilities.   Let's face it, it's a tiny airport serving mainly county Londonderry and some of the closer parts of County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.

One the 'Land' side, there is a small bar, check in, some car hire and ticket purchasing points, and also a small bookshop with newspapers and books etc.

One the 'Air' side, there is a small canteen, serving a good hearty breakfast and some warm food, but mainly gluten-based or pastry-based items.  There are of course toilets, there is as always in Ireland, a bar, which was open when I arrived at 8.30am in the morning, so if you need the hair of the dog before you take to the air, it's good.

At present there is also a small vendor selling silver goods on just the other side of security.
