South east is a direction which is between the south and east. The direction can be diagonal to north-west. South-east England is one of the nine official regions in England. Its boundaries comprise of: Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, East Sussex, Oxfordshire
Surrey, Kent and West Sussex.

The South East England was created in the year 1994 and as of the year 2001, the population was 8,000,550. In fact, it is the most populous among the nine regions. People commonly refer to the region as "South East" instead of South East England.

Incidentally, South-East is also the name of one of the districts of Botswana. The Great South East is a popular Australia programme aired only in Queensland. The 30 minute programme displays tourist places and attractions in the south east part of the state around the capital state of Brisbane.
