Who Is John Edward?

John Edward is one of the contemporary spirit mediums of modern time who is acclaimed and enjoys international recognition. He had his debut 'Crossing Over with John Edward' on Sci-fi channel that became very popular within one year of broadcast. He was born and brought up in Long Island, New York.

Since he was a child, his extraordinary abilities had been observed. At the age of 15, he came into touch with Lydia Clar, a famous psychic from New Jersey, who first declared that John Edward would be a medium within a period of time. However, initially John Edward was quite sceptical about his own psychic abilities, but gradually he came to accept himself as a gateway to the psychic world. According to him, he acts as a bridge between the living world and the world of dead.

It is by means of five abilities, e.g. clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, clairalience and clairhambience; John Edward affirms that he becomes able to communicate with the other world. Critics of John Edward say that during his show consists of detailed questionnaire that is filled by the targeted audience who acts as a sitter and it is that information that John Edward actually uses to perform his show. It is true that the work of John Edward is not beyond criticism, but he has gained a high degree of popularity and appeared in a number of programmes such as 'Life Afterlife' – an HBO documentary, 'Larry King Live', 'Leeza, Roseanne, Maury, Sally, Entertainment Tonight', 'The Crier Report', and 'Charles Godwin' to name but a few.
