What Is A Don't Come Bet In Craps?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A Don't Come bet is essentially the opposite of a Come bet. It can only be played during any points roll. A points roll is any roll made when the puck is on. The bet is made by placing a chip on the table in the area marked Don't Come. On the first throw of the dice after the Don't Come bet is made, the outcome can be win, lose, draw or establish a point.

The Don't Come bet will win if the shooter rolls a 2 or 3. As the bet has a low house edge, it always pays even money. If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11, the bet loses and is removed from the craps table. A draw occurs if the shooter rolls a 12, and the chip is returned to the bettor.

If any point number is rolled, then a point is established and the Don't Come bet moves to a box above the point number. It is situated in between the area that the puck occupies and the point number boxes. To win the bet, a 7 now needs to be rolled. If the point number is rolled, the Don't Come bet loses.

Once a points number has been established, a Don't Come bet can be removed at any point before the next roll of the dice. However, consider the reason behind this. The number 7 is the most likely outcome to be rolled due to the permutations of the dice. This means you have better odds of winning by keeping the bet on the table.
