What New Players Is Manchester United Going To Get Next Year?

Owen Hargreaves' name has been bandied about a lot, but it seems like a deal will never quite be worked out.  The tabloid papers are putting their money on the idea that Sir Alex will be keener to go for some budget Italian midfield and back players, instead (good players in the World Cup but whose teams were relegated in the Italian leagues due to the scandal).  Supposedly his scounts are putting out feelers to Andrea Pirlo. Mauro Camoranesi and Daniele de Rossi.

Ferguson also wants to get at least two strikers by January 2007. Spanish striker Fernando Torres may be tempted, but depends whether Man U can afford him.  More likely that Old Trafford will end up with some combination of the following

Klaas Jan Huntelaar, 23 year old striker, playing right now for Ajaz Amsterdam;

Klose Miraslav, 28, forward, playing for Werder Bremen;

Joe Cole, 25, Chelsea, nominally a right-footed midfielder but handy with either side.

Geremi, 25, Chelsea midfielder from Cameroon.
