Bridgewater Hall is in Manchester, England. It enjoys the fame of being an international concert hall. It pulled in about £42 million for its construction. It received its name from the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater. The Bridgewater Canal that crosses Manchester was commissioned by the 3rd Duke. At least 250 performances are organised every year.
In the center of this hall is placed a pipe organ. It was made with 5500 pipes by Marcussen & Son. The main auditorium is benched on isolation bearings which block the noise from Metrolink line and other vibrations from entering the auditorium.
This year, it celebrated its 10th anniversary. La Scala Philharmonic, St Petersburg Philharmonic and the famous pianist Alfred Brendel presented their special performances.
Since its inception in September 11, 1996, Halle Orchestra and Manchester Boy's Choir have housed their performances here. BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata use Bridgewater as their regular venue.
