What Is A Healthy Weight For An 8 Year Old Girl?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

There is no predetermined 'right weight' for children, even when divided into males and females. There are many factors which go into the constitution of a healthy weight level for a child, the major one being his or her genetic make up, the physical characteristics which one is born with, which get passed down from one parent to his or her offspring.

Another important factor in calculating healthy body weight is the body type of the person. Basically if a person has a larger frame, that is a heavier or bigger skeletal structure, he can weigh more than the person with the same height who has lighter bones or a smaller frame.

To decide the right healthy weight for your child, consult a doctor as it involves calculating many elements in the body like the body fat etc.

The healthy weight for a 8 year old girl is 65 pounds and the healthy weight for a 8 year old boy is 68 pounds . But it really depends on the height. If they are really tall then they weigh more but if they are short they weigh less.
