There is no predetermined 'right weight' for children, even when divided into males and females. The healthy weight for a 8 year old girl is 65 pounds and the healthy weight for a 8 year old boy is 68 pounds . But it really depends on the height. If they are really tall then they weigh more but if they are short they weigh less.
