I have played WOW on a laptop with a pentium 3 1.0GHz processor, 512Mb ram, a 64 Mb graphics card, and running windows XP. I don't know if you can go lower, but that is the lowest system I have ever played on. However all of the graphic settings, in game, needed to be turned down to all the lowest settings, but it is still perfectly playable. I play on a much more powerful system now and although the graphics are much more refined, the game play isn't very much different.
