Province and region are two different concepts. A province is an administrative division within a country or within a state. It is a territorial unit of a state or a country. On the other hand, region is a geographical term which is used for a specific space or area. For example, a specific piece of land is region, river basin, a water body, mountain area or any specific location is a region. Generally a region is referred as a collection of small units of land like a specific location in England will be a specific region of England.
