What Does Red Represent In A Colour Scheme?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The colour red could be seen as any of many resembling colours at the least frequency of light which can be discerned by human vision. Red is one of the principal colours of visible light. It is a primary colour, that is, other colours can be derived by mixing red with another primary colour, namely blue or green.

Red is an additive key colour, although it was earlier thought to be a subtractive colour. Its complementary colour is cyan. It is used in printing in the colour model RGB used in modern colour printing which consists of the colours red, blue and green, as opposed to the CMYK model, which consists of the colours Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black.

In popular culture, the colour red often symbolises elements like love, passion, anger etc.
