Is It True That If You Wear Contact Lenses You Will Not Be Able To Have An Eye Surgery In The Future?

I wear contact lenses every weekend but I'm thinking of having a laser eye surgery to not wear them any more but. I was told that was not going to be able to have it because I have worn contact lenses before. Is that true?

No, i wear contacts too, everyday and i'm still eligible for eye surgery. I've talked to my doctor about it and he just told me to wait until after my first year of college and if my eye sight still hasn't changed then i can get it done. i don't know how long you've wore your's for but i think i wear my more often and if i can still get it done then i'm sure you can too.
    Lots of luck

No, you do have to not wear them for up to a month prior to surgery but that is the only restriction.

It depends on how many years you have been wearing contacts.  After wearing contacts every day for 23 years, I went to a laser eye surgeon.  After three appointments, three months later, he was unable to get a favorable map of the shape of my eyes.  He said this was because I had worn contacts for so many years and contacts will alter the shape of the eye in long term contact wearers.  He told me to wear only glasses for six months and come back to determine if my eyes had gone back to the original shape.

I have never heard of such a thing. More likely it is just some rumor. Check with the eye dr.
