    Flax is also called as Linseed it is a member of the family 'Linaceae'. Flax originated from India. It is an erect plant and grows 120 cm tall, and has slender stems. The leaves are green, and the flowers are pale blue, they are about 1.6-2.4 cm in diameter, and have five petals. The fruit is a round and is dry in the shape of a capsule 5-8 mm diameter, containing a lot of brown color seeds. Flax is the national flower of Belarus.

    Flax is also the emblem of the assembly of Northern Ireland's, USSR, France, Belgium and Ireland, and major flex producing countries. Alluvial is a kind of soil which is useful for its growth. Its sprouts are edible with a spicy touch.
