    Buffalo basically is small town located in the Putnam County, West Virginia, near the Kanawha River. Buffalo is well known for the Toyota Manufacturing plant which occupies approximately one million square feet of the town, providing employment to many people from the local area.

    According to the census conducted in the year 2000, the total population of this region was 1,171, having an average population density of 320.7 per square kilometre. The census report of 2000 also stated that the total area of this region was 4.3 square kilometres out of which 0.6 square kilometres is covered by water.
