White wine can be made with both white and red grapes.
Red wine is made, normally, from red grapes.

If the white wine is from red grapes all the skins are removed. Red wine the skins stay (sometimes the stems too).

The fermentation process is similar for both. Sugar and yeast are added to the juice. Yeast eats the sugar and produces alcohol. The percentage of sugar in the solution determines the amount of alcohol in the final product.  24% sugar will result in 12% alcohol. At around 12% alcohol the yeast dies. I f you start with more than 24% sugar you end up with a sweet wine.

Red wines are then usually aged in wooden barrels before bottling.  White are usually bottled directly out of stainless steel tanks.

If you mean what the difference between how a Red or a white wine is made is a combination of things. In a Red wine the skins are left in with the juice to produce your deep red colors. Mostly a wine's characteristics are a product of the varietal.
