Why Are Pocket Bikes Becoming So Popular?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Quite simply pocket bikes are the most fun you can have on two wheels.

For the uninitiated fast pocket bikes may seem like kid's stuff. But they're wrong; fast pocket bikes are far from toys. They are cut-down Grand Prix motorcycles that can easily top 50 mph and more. Riding a pocket bike fast takes a lot of skill and nerve, especially as you're hurtling along barely five inches off the ground. Steering and throttle control has to be smooth, violent or erractic movements are magnified on a pocket bike due to its small dimensions. Not for nothing do pocket bike racers wear full leathers and crash helmets. Come off at speed and you're gonna know about it. A fall at speed hurts just the same whether you were riding a pocket bike or a full size motorcyle.

Compared to a full size motorcycle, a pocket bike is a tenth or more of the price and can be driven by anyone with the need to have a licence.
