Hildenborough is a small village as well as a rural parish located in the region of Tonbridge and Malling, Kent. It is situated exactly two miles north-west of Tonbridge and approximately five miles south-east of Sevenoaks.

The village falls towards the River Medway valley, close to the North Downs in a district which was known as The Weald. Hildenborough was initially known as just Hilden or according to its 13th century name, Hyldenn. Hildenborough was based on the first road in Kent to be turnpiked in the year 1710.

Currently the village, which is alongside Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, is crossed by contemporary A21 road. The railways reached quiet late in this region, the first ever direct line from London was started in the year 1868.
