Can A Landlord PROMISE They Will Not Sell The House You're Moving Into, Then Sell It 2 Years Later?

I moved into an apartment With my 2 kids and the understanding ,she'd never sell and we'd always have a home here. She gave me her "VERBAL word." She sold it 2 years later never repairing anything she promised to fix to a jerk. Now we must move. UNAFFORDABLE !!

    Talk to your landlord/tenant board about this, sadly a court does not usually recognize a verbal contract unless there are plenty of witness' to it. Good luck to you.

      Tiggersmom is absolutely correct. Courts do not recognize verbal agreements.

        Technically to be a valid verbal contract the service or promise must not be longer than 1 year. Depending on where you live as each State has different laws. However this is fairly standard. He is the owner and can sell the property whenever he wishes.
