I am not sure which context of point cutting you are talking about. There are many meanings for point cutting. The one I am sure of concerns hair cutting. As point cutting is used to refer to the point of the scissors which is used for cutting down the hair at an angle. This results in removing the weight of the thick hair and adds life to hair that are fine. Normally it is used while layering hair.
