Do You Have To Go To Court First Before Getting A Public Defender When You Are Being Sued?
i am being sued and want to get a public defender as i cant afford an attorney...do you have to go to court and have the judge say you can have one or can you go get one yourself beforehand

You can call your local public pretender, or excuse me defender, line or just call your local courthouse and they'll direct you... or if you want time to be waived then go to court without one and they will have to continue it to let the pretender, hmm, i mean defender go over the case :}
