How Does The Religion Of Christianity Block The Goal Of Christianity?

The words of Jesus are very apposite here: "A house divided against itself shall fall."

I suppose it all depends on how you define the religion of Christianity and what you think the goal of Christianity should be.

B/c the religion is the hindrance and the goal is to live by total faith in God. Religiousness is the systematic, repetitious regulations of going thru the motions. You can only be religious so much til you grow complacent or tired of doing it then slip back into sin or just give up 'DOING GOOD'. When you live by the spirit, you press toward the mark of the high calling in Jesus Christ (Phil 3). Its not a struggle to do or trying to do good, but a DESIRE to do good and its a heart issue. When you are religious, you cover the surface, the basics(read your bible sometimes, pray at night sometimes, go to church on Sundays). True saints live by the Word of God and by His Spirit(Rom 8). So when you try to live religiously, you just make yourself bitter and cold. Try God first before you pick up on religion. Jesus died so we could escape it. Perfect example: The Pharisees and Jesus. Religious people and God's children. They thought they were doing God's will, but they rejected His Son and His Word. Its the same with today, with most just doing what they feel is necessary to live and not knowing who God truly is, even when He's in your face.
