A Hardware is nothing but a non living thing used by a living thing. Hard=Solid and ware=thing, a software or another hardware can be used to control a hardware. A software which controls a hardware is called a firmware, the branch of study is called Embedded Systems. Starting from Small Resistors to Large Mainframe Computers are collectively called Hardware.
