First of all, close all the unnecessary programs that are running when you turn on your computer like msn messenger and so on.
    Go to
Start -> Run and there write msconfig and then press enter.

A screen will appear there go to "startup" and disable the applications which you don't need.

Then check how much free space is in C drive if it is less than 1 GB then a lot some space to it (from E and D drive) and your CPU usage will be low.

    Hope this might help.

    Enjoy blurting :)

Hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete to start Task Manager. Click on the Process Tab. Click the CPU heading twice. The program at the top of the list is the CPU hog. Usually you can search the Internet with the program name and find out what it does. It might be that the culprit is started as a Service. To check go to Control panel, click Administrative Tools and then click Services. This will give you a list of Services that are installed on your computer. Highlighting any entry will give you the option of disabling that entry.
