    Both the unconsciousness and consciousness are the parts of mind. There is another part of mind as well which is called subconscious.
    The major difference between the two is that consciousness is the part of mind dealing with the person's awareness and the processes and facts on which we are not concentrating but they are ongoing in our environment is called unconscious mind. Further details can be get from:

      Unconsciousness is the lack of consciousness, such as what occurs when a person faints or hits their head and is not responsive to external stimuli. It is the opposite of consciousness. An unconscious person does not speak, see, or even sometimes hear. It is like they are in a deep sleep.
