    The Crusades were primarily a series of wars waged by Christians under a religious theme. The war was aimed at countering the growing influence of the Seljuks and capturing Jerusalem and the Holy Land from the Muslim Rule and bringing it under the banner of the Christian Empire. The war was not just aimed at the Muslims but was also focused at eliminating the enemies of the Pope. The Crusader campaigns were also aimed at the following factions:
    1. Jews
    2. Pagans
    3. Excommunicated heretics and pagans
    4. Russian Orthodox Christians
    5. Greek Orthodox Christians
    6. Hussites
    7. Mongols
    8. Prussians
    9. Waldensians
