How Do 3-D Pictures Work?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The 3-D picture is a kind of an optical  illusion. 3-D pictures are pictures actually play tricks on the brain. Normally, the eyes take in light and send signals to the brain. The brain then transforms the signals into a picture. We see things differently out of each eye. The brain takes the two images brought in by both eyes and makes it into one image. In the 3-D picture, there are actually two sets of the same picture, but one is slightly larger than the other. The brain combines these two images into one image and this is where the 3-D illusion comes from. You are really looking at two of the same pictures, but the brain is actually transforming it into one image. This is an optical illusion. The eyes not actually responsible for the 3-D image, the brain is what is making it look as if it is coming right at you.
