I never took am on line course, but I would think that traditional ways are a better way of learning. You are on a person to person lesson and can ask questions and get answers instantly and the teacher is aware of the fact that you are learning or not and need additional help. With on line courses, you only get to learn what is there and I would in some cases the student could cheat fairly easy. Just my opinion, but this is how I look at it. It really depends upon the individual person though.

Most employers are impressed by people who seek higher education.  Myself going to a traditional 4-year school, and new to the job market; I'm finding it all depends on your market.  Where I live now, I'd be making more money if I had gone to a 2 year technical school.  Going to a University was the best decision for me, so much fun, such a great experience.
What are you interested in studying?  How is the job market in your area?

I am attending Western Governors University online, I like it, I went to a traditional school for two years but found that once I moved on my own and began working a full time job it was harder for me to find time to go to class. I am studying to be a elementary school teacher, I like the program, it is a lot more hands one than some might think. And there are testing sites available as well as as tutors that you can see in person. I just don't know if  it will decrease my chances of landing a good job in my field. You go through the same process, teacher demonstrations and in class supervision etc.
