What Is The Neutrons Of A Magnesium?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Magnesium is a chemical substance and its symbol is Mg. The number of neutrons in magnesium is 12. The atomic number of magnesium is 12. The atomic mass of magnesium is 24. The atomic mass of an atom is sum of numbers pf protons and number of neutrons. So, the numbers of neutron of an element is equal to difference of atomic number and atomic mass.

Number of neutrons = atomic mass - atomic number

number of neutrons in Mg= atomic mass of Mg - atomic number of Mg

    Number of neutrons in Mg= 24 - 12

Number of neutrons in Mg= 12
