How Big Is An Arctic Rabbit?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

An Arctic hare would be roughly 22 to 28 inches long on average. It also weighs roughly 9-12 lb.

The Arctic Hare would refer to a hare which is principally adapted to polar as well as mountainous habitats. At one time, this hare was deemed to be a subspecies belonging to the Mountain Hare. However, it now is classified and essentially regarded as a discrete species. The Arctic Hare for the most part eats woody plants. You find it also eats buds, berries and leaves in addition to meat in hunter's traps. This furry creature has a finely-honed sense of smell. It may actually dig looking for willow twigs buried under the snow.

Broadly, an Arctic hare would be classified under the Species: L. arcticus; the Genus: Lepus; the Family: Leporidae; the Order: Lagomorpha; the Class: Mammalia; the Phylum: Chordata ; and lastly the Kingdom: Animalia.
